ABOUT KAVITHA
In 2016, Kavitha Duraimuthu founded BST as an 11+ Tuition Centre, driven by her passion for teaching and education. Over the years, she has successfully guided numerous children to secure places in their preferred grammar schools, with particular expertise in the entrance requirements for schools in Bexley, Bromley, and Kent.
Having navigated the entrance process with her own children, who were accepted into St Olave’s and Newsteadwood Grammar Schools, Kavitha possesses a deep understanding of the parental experience. Many of her students continue to seek her secondary maths tuition even after securing a place in grammar school, and she has helped GCSE students achieve top grades of 9s and 8s.
Kavitha’s academic background includes a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, where she also worked as a Research Associate. Prior to establishing the tuition centre, she spent four years lecturing at an engineering college.
ABOUT ADI DHINA
Adi Dhina is a sixth form student at St Olave’s Grammar School, where he has been studying for seven years. His interest in teaching developed through observing his mother as she taught and helped students. Over the past three years, Adi has honed his teaching skills by training students in creative writing, as well as tutoring GCSE maths and science. During the summer, he coached children in comprehension and SPAG for their 11+ exams, helping them successfully gain places at their first-choice grammar schools.
Adi has significant experience working with children, including volunteering at a kids’ Lego club and assisting younger students at his school’s homework club. He plans to continue teaching even after university, as he finds inspiring and helping children achieve their full potential extremely rewarding. Seeing his students secure places in their preferred grammar schools or achieve high GCSE grades brings him great pride as a teacher.
